  Ever blanked out on a test? Or forgotten why you entered the kitchen in the first place? Or the one time you forgot that you had homework to do? Our lives are filled with these moments where we go “ Oh I forgot! “ and blame our bad memory for those incidents. But how have you ever thought is “memory” and why do we forget? Aren't our brains the most powerful machines in the world, that can memorize billions of books , and remember them?  Why then do we tend to forget, and why do scientists at the Nature Reviews Neuroscience journal , state that forgetting is actually learning? What is “memory”? In simple terms, memory is the faculty of the mind by which information is stored, encoded, and retrieved when needed.
